Pupils' Well Being
West Hove Infant School is a Health Promoting School.
What does this mean? We support healthy eating.
Pupils have a mid-morning snack of fruit and water or milk.
Fruit is provided by the school free of charge and fresh water is available.
Parents are invited to order a carton of milk for each school day across the half term. |
 |
A letter will be sent home in your child's book bag towards the end of each half term with details of how to order milk for the coming half term. |
 |
Parents can select to order a school dinner at a cost of £1.90, for either a hot or cold meal. The menus are on a three week rota and are based on nutritionally balanced home cooked meals. They contain lots of fruit, vegetables and salads to help boost children's intake of essential vitamins and minerals. The levels of fat, salt and sugar are also reduced. Alternatively, you can provide your own nutritional cold lunch.

Illness
Sometimes children may need to stay off school if they are poorly. The office need to be informed so please phone by 10.00am. |
 |
Medication
We are not allowed to give children any medication except inhalers. These must be named clearly and will be kept in the main office. The children can then use them under adult supervision.
If a child needs other medicines for example antibiotics, parents are asked to come into school to administer them themselves. |

Holidays
If a holiday needs to be taken during term time parents are asked to complete a holiday form so that the absence can be considered for authorisation. Children can only be authorised up to 10 school days during term time in one school year.

School Calendar
Whilst you are on holiday it would be nice if you could help your child to keep a diary. By drawing a picture or writing a few lines of text your child is able to record what they do on their holiday. The can share it with their class when they return to school.
