This year the theme of the parade was Amazing Inventions.
Our school entry was 'The washing machine'.
On the Friday and Saturday before the parade the children, their parents and members of staff all helped to make costumes and props. |

The 'Big Make' this year and the centre piece of our entry was the washing machine.
We had an artist from 'Same Sky' to help us with the initial design and construction and then it was up to us.
With the expertise of certain members of staff (Mrs Malik and Mrs Coyle to name two!) our amazing washing machine was produced.

The Big Day
The parade day finally arrived and we were pleased to see blue skies. The children and staff looked fantastic dressed up as washer women and bubbles. |
 |
 |
| The dancers all wore headscarves and aprons and carried dish cloths and washing powder boxes. |
 |
 |
| The band all wore a backpack with small balloons attached to it and a headband with balloons attached.
The route had changed this year which made the parade run more smoothly than in previous years. This was much better as we got going without too much waiting around (we were number 47!) and we didn't stop and start so much once we were walking.

| The overall impact of our entry was great. Our washing machine really looked as though it had hundreds of bubbles coming out of it. The children played their instruments well, danced energetically and still had enough energy for a huge cheer for West Hove Infants at the end. |

| We all had such fun! Thank you to all the teachers, children and parents involved for making it such a huge success. |
