A child whose birthday falls between 1st September and 31st August will be admitted into Reception class at the beginning of the autumn term either on a part-time or full-time basis. If their birthday falls between 1st September and 31st December then they will be admitted to school on a full-time basis, all other children will be part-time until 31st December and full-time after Christmas.

The admission limit to our Reception is 120 pupils.


Arrangements for Parental Visits Prior to Admissions

Parents who are considering sending their children to our Infant School should contact the headteacher, who will be pleased to make an appointment to show them around the school and explain our school ethos.

All our new children and parents are given the opportunities and time to become familiar with, and settle into, the routine of a new school through a carefully planned induction programme. This induction programme includes 'welcome' meetings for parents, and 'story' and 'activity' sessions for the children.


Feeder Schools

The children in our Reception transfer from a number of different pre-school providers.

The majority of children transfer from our school to West Hove Junior School. The links between the two schools ensure that the transition is smooth and a natural process. The headteacher of West Hove Junior School is also proud of the achievements of the school and the wonderful facilities available.
